Also, many geo-libertarians are also applying the same theoiries to the private enclosure of the SOCIAL commons (limited liability, corp. personhood, intellectual property, currency, ballot acces) etcâ?¦

That sounds pretty interesting. I've written before about the evils of giving corporations a deal better than that offered to "organic citizens" such as you and me, so I suspect we'd find some more common ground there. I've never found what I consider a completely satisfactory position regarding intellectual property, so I'm always interested in hearing different ideas there as well. Thanks for the links!

I suggest that you also take a look at George's "value from obligation" theory...

in it he posits that the private enclosure of land beyond Locke's Proviso (enough and as good left for others) or the sustainable yield creates a condition in which the economic rent (return on land) retained by the landowner foists a legal and material obligation on those being excluded that can only come at the expense of the property rights to the fruits of their labor.

in a 100% pure rent sharing scenario - there would be no purchase price to land.

you may also want to take a look at Thoams Paine's "Agrarian Justice"

Also, many geo-libertarians are also applying the same theoiries to the private enclosure of the SOCIAL commons (limited liability, corp. personhood, intellectual property, currency, ballot acces) etc...

see www.friendsofthecommons.org

I would alos recommend Dan Sullivans "common vs. collective rights"

I feel honored that Kevin Carson of Mutualist Blog even came here to read this, let alone link to it. I'm not exactly a mutualist or anarcho-capitalist myself, but Kevin is an insightful thinker whose writing is excellent and did much to inform what I've written above. I particularly enjoy his "Vulgar Libertarianism Watch" series. Welcome to any who came here from there.

(five minutes later)

Whoa. Apparently Freedom Democrats - another excellent site that I follow daily - got the link from Kevin, and even quote me extensively. I must confess, however, that the piece from Locke that they quote was not my own find but from the Geolibertarian FAQ. In any case, welcome again.
