Google finally has me at #1 for my own name again. Take that, Jeff Darcy!
(Seriously, I couldn’t be in better company. Jeff’s a fine cartoonist whose work I enjoy . . . at least when it’s not too Ohio-specific for a Massachusetts guy to understand. I wish him the best of everything . . . except for the top spot on the top search engine.)

Hi Jeff, just want to give you another Google tidbit. Someone got to my post on the Airborne cold and flu remedy/scam by typing in a sentence you wrote in the comments:
“Sadly, we live in a society where expertise is equated with elitism and ignorance is equated with authenticity.”
Is that quote entirely yours or did you adopt it from elsewhere? This morning, a referral tweet and my post are the #1 and #3 search returns.
Oh, and congratulations on reclaiming “Jeff Darcy.”
Thanks, AP. The sentence you quote is one I composed myself, or at least I don’t recall any specific antecedent. I’m sure I’ve seen others express the same or similar thoughts, though, so I can’t entirely rule out some level of subconscious borrowing. It wouldn’t be the first time that a phrase or idea that I sincerely thought was my own turned out to be derived from something I had read and then (almost) forgotten. It does seem odd that someone should be searching for something so specific, doesn’t it?
